Leisl is an energetic and enthusiastic follower of Jesus Christ who is passionate about leading others to step boldly in faith toward a joy filled life. As the Founder of Bold Faith Ministries, Leisl takes great delight in leading people of all ages to a deep and transforming relationship with Christ. With her easy going demeanor, her silly sense of humor and a warm and loving spirit, Leisl quickly puts people at ease.
When her plans had fallen through and her life was literally in ruins, Leisl began referring to herself as the “Queen of the Curveball”. By the powerful and inexpressible grace of God and Leisl’s natural ability to laugh at her own humanity, God has rescued Leisl from the rubble and brought her into a life of joy and fulfillment. As a result of God’s faithfulness, Leisl is standing strong today and she is passionate about empowering ordinary women, just like herself to:
- Move from the ordinary to the extraordinary through a relationship with Christ
- Walk confidently as people of God
- Supersede feelings of doubt, fear and insecurity with faith, confidence and joy
- Step boldly in faith to find the presence of God which leads to a joyfilled life
As the parent to a mentally ill child, Leisl has overcome insurmountable obstacles. Having lost her dreams, her financial security, most of her belongings, and all of her confidence, Leisl reached an all time low and prayed to God to let her die. Thankfully, by putting her trust in Christ, Leisl now walks in confidence and is leading a life of extraordinary joy. It is Leisl’s deepest desire to embolden others on the journey of faith and to lead them to a life transformed by Christ Jesus.
In addition to being Cody’s mom, Leisl is the Founder of Bold Faith Ministries and she is committed to bringing hope and encouragement to all of God’s children. Leisl has earned her Certificate of Christian Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and she is currently writing her first book, Finding God in the Nooks and Crannies, a book filled with stories of God’s faithfulness as she has navigated the difficult journey of caring for a mentally ill child.
When Leisl is not writing or speaking at events you can find her volunteering at the Los Angeles Dream Center, where she serves the homeless and advocates for the mentally ill. She also serves as a Board Member for the Long Beach Chapter of NAMI (the National Allilance on Mental Illness.) Leisl enjoys spending time with her son, Cody, her sweet dad, Walt, riding her cute beach cruiser named, Bessie, drinking orange spice tea, spending time with friends and family and watching sappy Hallmark movies. Leisl is just a regular girl who loves God and all of His people. Leisl looks forward to walking with you on the journey.
